The Art of the Patient Reception

Following the Miami Biotech Collective Summit, The Art of the Patient Reception, made possible with support from Orrick and LaVoie HealthScience, celebrated the patient experience and the strength, resilience, and journey of patients. The evening featured a special presentation by Karina Giselle Rodriguez, architect, photographer, and breast cancer survivor and a musical performance by Brazilian Voices, an award-winning nonprofit female vocal ensemble known for blending Bossa Nova with healing music. Through the Pink Picture Project, Karina honors cancer survivors and captures the strength, vulnerability, and resilience of the patient journey.

The inaugural Miami Biotech Collective Annual Summit, powered by J.P. Morgan, convened more than 150 biotech CEOs, investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders during Miami Art Week for an in-depth discussion on building and financing biotech companies in South Florida. The program focused on capital, talent, and infrastructure through a series of panel discussions, followed by a networking reception.

Hosted by the Miami Biotech Collective in collaboration with the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, this invitation-only leadership roundtable convened executives from biotech and healthcare, investors, public-sector leaders, healthcare systems, and real estate developers for a closed-door discussion on Miami’s emerging role as a biotech hub. MBC will produce a white paper to capture insights on why Miami and why now to be shared with members. The leaders around the table discussed Miami’s biotech value proposition, key opportunities to drive the biotech economy, and outlining actionable next steps to support growth.

The “Back from Summer Soirée” brought together over 70 of South Florida biotech leaders at the exclusive members club The Bath House on South Beach to kick off the seasons with an overview of MBC’s fall and winter programming and introductions to members of the Board of Advisors and Women’s Leadership Council.
